Locum Microbiology Biomedical Scientist

Cromwell Medical Staffing is currently recruiting an experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist with a Microbiology background for a reputable NHS trust based in Sussex.

This is an exciting locum opportunity for a dedicated professional to join a supportive laboratory team and contribute to the efficient delivery of high-quality microbiological testing and diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a full range of microbiology investigations in line with UKAS and ISO standards.
• Interpret results and provide timely reports to clinical teams.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring quality control and assurance protocols are followed.
• Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver accurate and efficient diagnostics.
• Adhere to health and safety and infection control protocols.

Requirements:

• HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
• Proven experience in a UK-based Microbiology laboratory (Band 6 level).
• Proficiency in using relevant LIMS systems and microbiology instruments.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to commit to a full-time rota.

 Desirable:

Ability to travel or relocate to Sussex for the duration of the contract.
