Band 7 Mortuary Manager

Cromwell Medical Staffing is currently recruiting for an experienced and highly organised Band 7 Mortuary Manager to lead a dedicated mortuary team in Bath. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Anatomical Pathology Technologist (APT) or Mortuary professional to step into a leadership role within a supportive NHS trust.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the mortuary, ensuring compliance with all HTA regulations and local policies.
• Manage a team of technical staff, providing leadership, training, and support.
• Coordinate post-mortem services, including liaising with pathologists, coroners, and funeral directors.
• Maintain accurate documentation and manage mortuary systems and records.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Support audits, inspections, and ongoing quality assurance initiatives.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications in Mortuary Science or equivalent (e.g. Level 3 Diploma in APT or higher).
• Experience working in a mortuary setting at Band 6 or Band 7 level.
• Thorough understanding of HTA legislation and mortuary compliance standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
