Role: Prison Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – Band 6

Location: HMP/YOI Drake Hall

Contract Type: Agency / Temporary

Duration: Ongoing (subject to service needs)

Working Hours: Full Time

Shifts: Flexible rota – Days, Nights & Weekends (block bookings available)

Rate: £24 – £39 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 RMN to work within the healthcare team at HMP/YOI Drake Hall. You will be delivering essential mental health services in a secure environment, supporting individuals with a range of complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake mental health assessments and reviews
• Plan, deliver, and evaluate patient-centred care
• Support individuals with complex and acute mental health needs
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team
• Carry out risk assessments and crisis management
• Administer and manage medications safely
• Ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date

Requirements

• Active NMC registration (RMN)
• Relevant mental health nursing experience
• 🚨 Valid Prison Clearance – ESSENTIAL (candidates without this cannot be considered)
• Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills
• Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
