Job Summary

Cromwell Medical Staffing is currently recruiting an experienced and compassionate Band 6 Neonatal Nurse to join a high‑quality Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled neonatal nurse to deliver specialist, life‑saving care to vulnerable newborns within a professional and supportive clinical environment.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, growth, and development of neonatal patients while working closely with multidisciplinary teams and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care to neonates in NICU, HDU, and Special Care Units
• Monitor vital signs and undertake comprehensive neonatal assessments
• Safely administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, using aseptic techniques
• Assist with neonatal procedures, including:
  • Blood sampling
  • Catheterisation
  • Ventilator management and respiratory support
• Educate and support families on neonatal care, including:
  • Tube feeding
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Developmental and emotional support
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using EHR systems (Cerner / Epic)
• Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and discharge planning
• Ensure compliance with all clinical governance, safeguarding, and confidentiality standards

Essential Requirements

✅ Registered Children’s Nurse (RCN)

✅ NMC Registered (UK)

✅ QIS Trained – Mandatory

✅ Minimum 6 months’ neonatal nursing experience

✅ Experience in NICU / Level II or Level III units preferred

✅ Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical assessment skills

✅ Ability to remain calm and effective in high‑pressure environments
