Band 4 Microbiology Laboratory Assistant - Bacteriology

Cromwell Medical Staffing is recruiting a dedicated Band 4 Laboratory Assistant to support the  Microbiology -Bacteriology department at a leading NHS hospital in Sussex.

The successful candidate will assist Biomedical Scientists with the processing of laboratory specimens, playing a key role in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of diagnostic testing services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Biomedical Scientists with routine specimen processing in virology
• Handle and prepare clinical samples for analysis following laboratory protocols
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of laboratory work areas
• Ensure accurate data entry and labelling of specimens
• Adhere to infection control and health & safety procedures

Requirements:

• Prior  NHS experience in a medical or microbiology laboratory
• Familiarity with handling clinical specimens
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
• Good IT and data entry skills
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
