Timeline for India Recruitment Week

Depending on the requirements and volume of nurses required we suggest 4 days of interviews with 1 interview panel consisting of 2 trust representatives.

Each day would consist of 40 interviews, 20 in the morning and 20 in the afternoon. Again, depending on the requirements this can be increased but will also act as a pipeline to support your future needs which are often difficult to anticipate.

Summarised Timeline from start to finish:

Week 1-4: Contract awarded, and CMS Consultants briefed on the project. Marketing campaign and initial candidate screening process begins. Indian agent also briefed, and preparation begins for the India trip.

Week 5-7:

  • Establish how many staff will be travelling to India
  • Arrange convenient dates for all parties and create a schedule for each day. Usually, we advise 4 days of interviews with a day off and 2 days of travel
  • Liaise with third party agent to make sure they have all the documentation the candidates will need to sign once offer letter issued.
  • India travel VISAs applied for, for all parties, flights, hotels, and transport confirmed and booked

Week 8: India Trip

  • The day will consist of AM/PM interviews
  • CMS will set up the equipment for presentations and will provide the candidates with the drug assessment test to be completed and assessed before their interview slot.
  • 7:30-8:00am – The trust presents to the morning group of candidates, so they are well informed on what to expect in the UK
  • 8:00-9:00am – The first candidates attend their interviews
  • Refreshment breaks are allocated for interviewers as instructed
  • Once the morning interviews are complete, CMS holds an offer letter presentation and have a photo with successful candidates
  • Whilst interviews break for lunch (1 hour), the afternoon session begins, and candidates are giving the drug assessment test to complete
  • 1:30-2:00 – Presentation begins, and afternoon candidate interviews begin
  • 3-4pm – Last candidates are interviewed, and the offer letter presentation is repeated to those successful

Week 9: Post interview week, CMS will communicate with candidates and establish who is ready/ compliant to land. The landing dates are discussed and confirmed with the Trust.

Week 12 onwards: Once the candidates have confirmed to CMS, they are happy to travel to the UK in the next cohort and their compliance levels have been confirmed, we will send the Trust the documents for the Certificate of Sponsorship (COS). Once the COS has been issued, CMS will send it to the candidates who require a COS to apply for their VISA.

Once candidates have applied for their VISA and they have been received, CMS will confirm to the trust who is landing, and the Trust/HB will confirm their accommodation. As mentioned previously we suggest landing the cohort on a Wednesday and starting their OSCE training the following Monday to allow time to settle into their accommodation, recover from jetlag and open a UK bank account.

Week 16: On arrival day, a CMS representative will welcome and greet the candidates at the airport before taking them to their accommodation. Once the candidates have arrived at the accommodation, CMS will invoice the trust. All reimbursements are paid to the candidates by CMS into their UK bank account.

All compliance documents will be shared with the Trust/ HB by CMS via Dropbox in the weeks before confirming the landings.

We pride ourselves in providing a personable service. Candidates are collected from the airport by a CMS representative who then accompany them in pre-booked transport to their accommodation. We believe this personable approach makes the whole moving process much easier for the candidates and creates a welcoming first impression. We also keep in contact with the candidates after the onboarding process has begun to help them with any concerns or questions about their new home. We pride ourselves on our 100% retention rate which is due to candidate satisfaction.
