Band 6 Microbiology Biomedical Scientist

Cromwell Medical Staffing is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join a Microbiology team at a leading NHS hospital in Guildford. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital diagnostic services in a supportive and well-equipped laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and specialist microbiology investigations on clinical specimens
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with protocols
• Work within UKAS and ISO 15189 quality standards
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of results
• Collaborate with clinical and laboratory colleagues to support patient care

Requirements:

• HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
• Proven microbiology laboratory experience in an NHS  setting
• Experience using laboratory information systems and diagnostic platforms
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of infection control practices
